Hi Sarah,

I did a search and found references to the lake of fire: Revelation 19:20, 20:10, 20:14, 20:15 The last is “And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.” I’ll see if I can find some other stuff.

Thanks, Andy.
With regards to Left Behind, does the book of Revelations mention anything about whether those left behind after the rapture can repent, or are they just screwed?

For an excellent and engrossing detailed examination of [The Book of] Revelation, I recommend The History of the End of the World by Jonathan Kirsch (who also authored The Harlot by the Side of the Road: Forbidden Tales of the Bible, also highly recommended). Interestingly, even the author of Revelation himself, John the Evangelist (who, in my opinion, might have benefitted from anti-psychotic medication), and eminent church fathers such as Augustine and Jerome cautioned against taking Revelation literally. A copy of Revelation as it appears in the King James Version of the Bible is included in the appendix.

Welcome to Gabbin' About God, sponsored by Ace Religious Supplies, where they say, “If we don't got it, it ain't holy.”

Just kidding. This is Not My God, a site for the personal aspect of atheism. I'm putting together a book with that title, having already 20 interviews lined up, but I still want to hear from more of you.
I've expanded the blog to include material not related to atheism, including rants, raves, consumer issues, curmudgeonly matters and other miscellany.
